I have been caught by speed cameras in DC not in Virginia. I never pay them and always get letters in the mail for about 4 months. After they have gone up a few hundred dollars they advise me that my car could be booted or towed.
Usually about 6 months go by and I stop getting letters. Then 2 years later or so another letter.
They also advise that it is going to hurt my credit rating. This has been going on for the last 12plus years. Nothing has ever showed up on my credit report and I have never been towed or booted.
I always change my tags once I check online and see that they are now in the data base for DC Govt.....
Its one big scam.
