What about a state like GA that does not participate in the license compact?

Damn that's interesting, how long ago did you have an NC license? My tickets were recent, got popped in 2009 in NC. Same with the girl who had her out of state MD license suspended in MD.

Another story would be my friend from Raleigh NC got his license suspended twice. Plead guilty to 22 over in NC and got a 30 day suspension, and got a ticket in SC for 21 over this past April, SC notified NC and his license was suspended for 30 days. It's been made pretty clear that NC does not play around with speeding laws. Same with Hellginia.

Then again, my dad got a speeding ticket for 78 in a 55 in Massachusetts in 2005, he never paid it and nothing happened to his license. I'm not sure if the states only report major offenses you don't respond to or what. Sometimes I honestly think it's luck with the DLC and all those other pacts states make...
I had an NC license up to summer of 2008. now the ticket I got in NC as an out of state driver was ~10 years ago so the laws may have changed but at that time if I was an NC resident they would have suspended my Lic for 15 over the limit. was it luck, maybe I just assumed it was because I was not a resident.

I got tickets in NJ, MA, NH and IL with my NC license none went on my NC lic.

I hope they change that law. It is so ridiculous that someone should have a criminal record for going 10mph over the speed limit (80 in a 70).

Gotcha. Yea times have definitely changed, most of the time people in NC have been getting their licenses suspended. I have a good amount of friends who go to ECU in Greenville, NC and they told me their roommates have had their NC licenses suspended a couple of times each for dumb speeding offenses in and out of state. That really blows.

Yeah man I figured you Virginians would be happy to know about this, I know I was and I don't even live in that hellhole haha. Apparently Maryland is going to be next to look into the 70MPH limits on I-70, I-68 and I-95.

That article is not accurate. You have to be in excess of 80 regardless of the speed limit to get a reckless driving ticket by speed in Virginia. This means you have to be going 81 or faster to get a reckless driving ticket by speed in a zone where the speed limit is 70. It still sucks that 11 over the speed limit gets you a ticket where you are charged with a class 1 misdemeanor criminal offense (highest class of misdemeanor in Virginia, same as drunk off your a$$ driving).

    http://leg1.state.va.us/000/cod/46.2-862.HTM

    § 46.2-862. Exceeding speed limit.
A person shall be guilty of reckless driving who drives a motor vehicle on the highways in the Commonwealth (i) at a speed of twenty miles per hour or more in excess of the applicable maximum speed limit or (ii) in excess of eighty miles per hour regardless of the applicable maximum speed limit.
