There is also a bill before the legislature authorizing the use of RLCs. It is SB 527

They're trying to balance the budget on the backs of motorists so it's open season.

They have tried this a couple times already, hopefully it gets shot down again. Once they start with the cameras in school zones/construction zones it's the beginning of the end. In a few years they will change the legislation to make it so speed vans will be able to go anywhere in the state.

They can't make a lot of money from speedcams in school zones so they would definitely expand that to other areas. And many more miles of roadway will be designated "construction zone" even though no actual road work is going on. All it takes is putting up some orange signs.

I will be sure to bring that up if I go to the hearing. If there is a hearing. Hopefully the committee chairperson will not even bring it up for a hearing. But you never know.
