WHAT!!!!!!!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS FOR SAFETY! Why the hell do departments always mention revenue , yet they continue to push the word safety for the public and media. WAKE UP PEOPLE!

Damn. I was really hoping he hit a power line with it, and got fried in his friggin' pirate van.
On another note, I would expect that these things have safety indicators in the cab that prohibit you from "forgetting" to lower the mast before driving off. This has been the standard for news vans for a very long time, and I bet the same company makes these vans. Stupid cop probably disabled the alarm. So much for idiot-proofing.
