One way to piss off insurance companies. At least in Ohio no points means no basis for raising rates.

$15 to $25 fine? Lies. They are ALL $80 unless 10+ then $180...

wow this doesn't scream cash grab does it?

A bill now in the South Carolina House of Representatives would give police an alternate penalty for drivers speeding less than 10 miles per hour over the limit. Instead of a $15-$25 fine and 2 points on their licenses, officers could write warning tickets with a $150 fine but no license points.
we all know its a cash grab to begin with but now that they are probably gearing up to increase enforcement to generate more revenue they are doing this to quiet the populous when they start getting hit with massive speed traps for "safety" ie revenue generation.

the people will be lulled into compliance with paying higher fines and not complain as it won't affect their license.

wish they would do away with the whole points system all together and make speeding a simple fine with ALL of the money collected donated to charity not the government. I bet you would see seat belt/speed enforcement all but dry up. then they actually might spend their time stopping the real danger, distracted drivers. ah but one could only dream of such a thing.
