Default Re: NJ - Police cracking down on loud motorcycles

I've been wondering how long it would take to start enforcing noise restrictions. We've got quite a lot of this in Fort Worth. Seems like quite a lot of the Harleys have straight pipes. Granted, it's been over 10 years since I rode, but I never really bought into the argument that loud pipes save lives. Better to be alert and aware, because even if the motorcyclist is in the right, he loses in an accident.

I must be missing something here. What do labels have to do with whether or not a muffler meets sound-level restrictions? It doesn't have to be loud just because it's aftermarket.
