Will this mean less traffic patrols and more drug task forces? I'd be not.

The more drug heads that die, the better. Does that mean less traffic patrolling? Absolutely not. Speeders are easier to get hold of than the druggies.

This is first time that drugs have caused more deaths than motor vehicle accidents since the government started tracking drug-related deaths in 1979. Bob Anderson, chief of the CDC's mortality statistic branch, said the swing is bittersweet.

"On one hand the motor vehicle death rate has been going down, and I think that's important in and of itself," said Anderson, crediting the bulk of the drop to speed limits and seatbelt laws.
Half of that statement is bull****. What was the national speed limit in 1979?

In other news, your daily commute is now only marginally less dangerous than abusing drugs! We still have a long way to go...
