I like the idea, however it almost sounds as if a vacuum motor is installed on the car and gives off the effect.

They had a couple of DC cars out fitted with this device a few months ago.
After a couple weeks they took them off. More of a nussiance then anything else.
Most people in the city can see and hear the cop car coming. All this thing did was add an expense. Its not that people cant hear its more about they don't care to hear or give a sh1t that the cops are in a rush to save another thug from gun shots!.
Stupid idea!

Actually, that could have come in handy today. The story is that some guy with a bad hearing aid was unknowingly the cause of a chase, which resulted in a collision between a cruiser and a third vehicle. No idea what he was being pulled for in the first place, but I'd have to laugh if it was for a busted rear-view mirror.
