Coastal Optical Systems becomes Jenoptik's distributor in North America

APRIL 3--Coastal Optical Systems (West Palm Beach, FL) has taken over as the North America distributor of infrared cameras and thermography systems from JENOPTIK Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH (Jena, Germany; www.jenoptik-los.com). Jenoptik's VarioCAM, VarioTHERM, and VARIOSCAN infrared cameras cover the entire spectral region from near infrared to far-infrared. They are available as user-friendly, hand-held thermography cameras and can easily be implemented as modular tools for stationary system use. The VarioCAM, an uncooled camera model, is mainly intended for applications requiring high image resolution with real-time video capability in the long-wave IR spectral region.

With a core business of custom lens design and fabrication, Coastal Optical Systems addresses imaging applications covering the UV through the infrared, so distribution and support of Jenoptik infrared cameras is a natural extension of these activities. Don't worry guys. Jenoptic won't bring the laser patrol into the USA because it violates LTI patents. I tried to import this laser gun into the country over a year ago and they refused to sell them to me because they were afraid of the lawsuits.
