    Default Update file sizes?

Navalert (or anyone) how big (approx.) are the file sizes for the updates on your website... in other words, those of us whom don't have cable/DSL/Sat etc etc (any high speed internet), are the files decently small, so that dial-up users can easily obtain these as well?

Granted I could use my friends computers (since nearly everyone has cable these days), but I am just wondering here... because it looks like an interesting product should Red-Light cameras be used in my area.

yes the file size is very small, at the current 1mb file we have has over
20,000 saved locations - over 17,000 are school zones. (which you can easily turn off)

We have room for over 125,000 locations !! plus 200 user saved locations.

    Default that means..

That means that only 3,000 locations are enforcement cameras this is not alot of camera locations... are there really this few enforcement cameras in the usa? It seems now days when im looking for them now that i know and am educated about them more than i was before this forum i am seeing them more and more... I think you guys did a good thing though by keeping the uploads to a small size so everybody could connect to your database and wouldn't have to be sitting there for 5 hours downloading updates...

Yes under 3000 cameras in the usa, closer to 2000, dont be fooled by databases online showing more, much of that data is either out of date or duplicated (the show 2 cameras for baically same location on each side fo the road which is not correct )

the files size is low even with the high amount of school zones, speed traps - zones which can be switched off of course. 8)

I am sure the qty of 3000 will double. Our mayor is an idiot, the talk is that he wants every intersection covered with these cameras.

Yes we suspect it will over time continue to grow, as well I am sure we will see more and mroe speed cameras set up ranomly across the usa, which is actually a good thing, because they normally reduce leos in those areas, and when they are fixed speed cameras Navalert will tell you exactly when your coming up to one, unlike leo which you only detect when they are transmitting from their gun.

    ya...

You need to invent LARADalert. A detector that tells me when there is a laser/radar in standby mode waiting to nail me.
