EG(your wife and child are walking in your area, slow area, a car zooming into the area gets "flashed" slows down, goes by the radar........next day your family is again walking, same car comes through, not being flashed, doesn't slow down, and blows a tire, loses control and takes your family out?....driver might have thought about the ticket they had the day B4 in that area and be driving slower)

    Highway different story!
If you are going to talk about "what ifs" then you could also try:
A LEO is running radar. The same guy is flying and your family is walking. Since no one flashes him, he doesn't slow down, and, before he gets to the radaring LEO, blows out his tire and takes out your family because no one reminded him to slow down.

But yes, I understand what you are saying Just giving an example

I've heard that flashing lights to warn of speed traps is illegal in PA.

If the intent was public safety than warning approaching drivers to slow down would help to control speed of vehicles.

Seems like the powers that be are more interested in getting more money than public safety.

if you read the case it is not illegal, actually PA allows you to flash your light to signal to someone to move over so you can pass them. People believe this is actual illegal when it is not. it just upsets the person who is getting flashed so they assume it is not allowed, I'll have to see if I can find the rules of the road for this one.

Actaully, it could be illegal I found an Ohio case where a person was actually charged with obstruction and they won on a technicality, but they said that warning others of a police using radar could be obstructing the people's operations.

The reason the state lost in this case was they could not prove the person was actually warning others.

In NY most people don't know **** about road signals people sit in the Left lane going 50 MPH and when they get flashed they don't move and they don't get what you are doing. I flash my brights, put my hand up, and mouth slow down, speed trap, cop ahead anything if you are too inattentive to take that warning you deserve the ticket. I find down south or in rural areas people get it more, also they drive on more 2 lane highways which helps.
