Trouble Interfacing Mirror with V1

Okay, so I got the V1 adapter and got everything wired up. Everything powers up. And when the V1 detects a Ka signal, it alerts audibly, the CD alerts visually, and the Mirror alerts visually. I get a voice alert, but I get no audible alerts tone from the Mirror. I get both voice and tone alerts from X and K bands.

Also, when getting hit with Ka, the Mirror shows both Ka and Ku visual alerts.

I am running wiring option D, but without the Remote Audio Adapter, utilising the cigar plug.

As far as seeing both KA and KU they share the same LED as do both X and K indicators. WIth city mute ON you will only hear the voice for X and K and I am not sure why it is doing it for KA but it is not supposed to atleast it doesn't do it on mine.

I have wire option 1 as option 2 messed up the V1 flashing the mode it was in constantly so double check the wiring again as one wrong cord can really give cause for a major headache.

I know the speed cheetah cable is labeled one end v1, other end rdi.

Thanks, RacerX! I guess I've not had enough time with the Mirror to know for sure what I am seeing/hearing yet, so I'm not sure. I only get voice alerts for radar of any band. I get no other audible alerts, except for the tones that signal that the threat is over. Am I supposed to be getting tone alerts during the course of the radar encounter?

You have city mute switched on.

Switch it off by pressing button 4. This will give you tone alerts as well as Voice alerts.

City Mute ON = Voice Alerts only

City Mute OFF = Voice plus Tone alerts

One other observation: I have yet to run into a Red Light Camera that the Cheetah did not warn me about in advance. The database seems to be very accurate in that respect. But I have run into about three RLCs that were marked as an "Accident Black-Spot" instead of an RLC. Do black-spots take precedence over RLCs, or are these intersections that were black-spots before the RLCs were installed, and the database just hasn't been updated yet? Should I send in these updates?

Cheetah's can give you different alerts to the same location, depending on the direction you are driving.

We use "Accident Blackspot" alerts for the "Non enforced" directions at camera intersections. i.e pay attention approaching and watch out for red light runners coming the other way. After all, there's a reason the camera went in there.

If you drive at those same intersections from another direction - the way that the cameras will actually give you a ticket - you'll find that you get the proper "Red light Camera" alert for RLCs or a "Fixed Camera" alert for a speed on green RLC.

The point of the different alerts is to give you better information that you can use.

We also use Accident Blackspot alerts for future camera sites or just really bad intersections with a really high accident rate that you have to be careful about.

Okay, I got that all worked out now. Thanks! I'll be driving back to Floridia in the next few days, so I can give it a real workout.

I drove to the intersection closest to me with RLCs just now. The cams only shoot one direction, but the Cheetah alerts it as an "accident black spot" from all approaches. I'll e-mail you the location.
