Default Car wax on licsense plate/headlights to kill reflective nature?

Anyone tried putting a thick enough coat of car wax on your license plate/headlights and not wiping it off? Can't be one that looks really white when it dries but some look clearer and dull. Assuming this worked, it also is an easy thing to pass off if anyone notices, simply have to say you were waxing the car and missed a few spots.

It doesn't matter if you have no plate at all, and your car is solid muddy black. Without a jammer, you'll get pwnt at a quarter mile or more. Pondering the impact of your plate is pointless.

X2 on both accounts, wax just makes it worse, that's why Veil is so successful.

Its a moot point, but the OP is asking about putting wax on and not wiping it off. It would leave a wax haze.....however it would really be pointless...

Even without license plates cars get clocked all the time....hazy wax will not save you.

    Nor does it absorb IR.

Is this the kind of result you are trying to achieve?

Picture in full daylight (after treatment):

Picture in the dark with a flashbulb (after treatment). Ignore the area around the tags. I took the tags off and treated those areas when I installed my new registration tags:

It only takes about 20-30 minutes per plate with $5 worth of materials. It kills the retroreflectivity and can't be seen.
