Default Joining the "Georgia Sherrif's Association"?

So has any one ever had any experience using a "membership" to get out of a ticket? Or has it ever helped?
    Thanks

Ben Frank said "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." So you're better off with CM's than a membership of a sheriffs association. Unless you're the mascot.

Hahah no none of that stuff works. Stickers supporting cops all over your car only makes them want to write you even more. If you aren't a cop, you aren't getting out of the ticket. Completely worthless.

I have had some luck with a NYC PBA card along with the business card of the LEO who gave it to me. That said I think the business card is what helps more. In NY there are two kinds of PBA cards ones that have LEO's badge numbers on them and ones that are just generic. The ones with badges are typicaly rare and each leo only gets 1 or 2. The idea is if you have one of those a particaular LEO is "backing" you and since he only has a couple of those cards to give out the idea is that anyone who has one is close freind or relative. Most departments sell the generic cards for a few dollars to LEO in the department or give them out to low lever members of the PBA. As for your situation I think if you can in some way shown personal relation to a department or an individual within it, it's worth the expense; but if your just going to send a check in the mail and get some stickers and a plastic window badge your wasting your time.

I was the passenger on 3 separate occasions when a PBA card was pulled out along with a PBA badge and all three tickets were ripped up on the scene. I guess it depends on the officer. Also it also depends on how you go about presenting the badge and card. If you get pulled over and act all cocky with your PBA card you'll get the ticket. On all three occasions the badge + card were presented mid-late in the stop as a last resort.

I have an SBA card with my uncles badge number and his personal number written on the back along with his name and my name. Not to mention a mini shield

Of course it depends on the municipality, but tickets are controlled items and typically inventoried. I've never in my life heard of an LEO "ripping" one up. Also, from experience, I can tell you that it pays to tell the officer up front any LE affiliations you may have. Telling them mid to late in the process is not a wise strategy. There's no reason to use affiliation as a "last resort". Officers (of course, it always depends on the individual) would expect you to mention it right away. There's no reason to waste their time one way or the other. I'm always apologetic, but it's the first topic I bring up. Agreed, and it's common sense, not to be cocky, but at the same time it is a professional courtesy.

To the OP: Those stickers are usually a waste of money, but hey, you never know...
