gatsometer radar !! low powered question!!

i only have a snooper detector at the moment but i will probibly get a v1!

the uk gov are planning on banning radar detectors so i'm just waiting to see if they do and what penality you get for using one!!

anyway about the gatsos

my detector isnt that good basicly its crap but sometimes on some gatsos if beeps at a good distance!

but ive been passed a few more gatsos in my area and on a few of the same ones it only picks them up when i'm next to them!!

is my detector really crap or do the gatos have some type of anti detector radar!

also would the valentine detector do the same as my snooper!

both occasions the detector got a good range and a bad range on the same gatso and i can remember i was the only one on that road at the time so the scatter would have been the same!

very strange....... i emailed valentine and they said they dont know much about gatsos as they cant buy them to lab test!! they said they are always hearing of radar manufacturers claiming there radars to out do detectors etc!!

i live in the uk and as you may know valentine doesnt ship outside usa!

so ive got to buy one elsewhere at a higher price!

$399 = £217 cheap in our money!! you try and get a v1 quality detector over here for that!! the bel 550 is £309!! i can get a v1 for £295! from the internet! so the v1 is still cheaper than usa condendors!

even though i want a v1 or any really good detector the thing is its this ban which is worrying me! gps are not being banned but the gps do have a optional radar laser sensor but it isnt v1 escort quality!!

i know they will ban them and then use the spectre rdd's!

well i need someting either gps and radar and confuse the cops or have a remote system, or a 100% undetectable one!

it all depends on what happens with this detector ban!

Try with the Bel 975R or 966. These are the best radar detectors fo Europe.

Also to answer your question the V1 would give you a MUCH better warning than your current detector

Maybe your problem is that most Gatsos are on K band but some are on Ku band. Its unlikely your old Snooper will pick up Ku, at least not well.
Some speed cameras (Truvelo) etc are not even radar. They use inductive loops in the ground, so there is no radar signal to receive.
Find someone in the US to operate as a shipping address. Order a V1 suitable for Europe.
If RDs are banned again in the UK, and the cops use Spactre/Stalcars to detect them, you might want to wait til one of the quality makers brings out a truly 'invisible' detector.

i can get hold of a v1!!! for less than £300!! thats brand new 2 band pop!!

the thing is they are on the verge of being banned! so its all on that and if they are banned what will the penality be for having one!!

also if they do get banned when will there be a spectre invisible rd!!

i could go for a hidden one like the bel!!!

but i'm just waiting ...... all is well because i've not got the money for one yet!!

i'm still in the process of stripping my mk2 golf gti!! the pinion shaft wackhed a big hole in the bell housing!! its covered the clutch with gear oil!

what happens is that vw should have put 2 circlips 1 of either end of the pinionshaft in the diff! they did do that but somereason they started to use biggerheaded crownwheel rivets! but the pin bashes theses out of the way!

it gives no warning it just breaks! this could happen at any mileage!!!

the end result is a stuffed gearbox and £500 for another recon!
the thing is this was a recon... out of warranty!!!

so i'm taking parts of it...... and driving the vr6 in the mean time.......
