Yeah, it seems as if the 'Rookie' LEO's are the ones who are extremely hardcore about their tactics, the 'Veterans' seem to be the ones you want to deal with.
Agreed, the rookies are true dicks about detectors. They are like what is this, what are you using that for, why do you have it, then want to slam you for having one!

Correspondingly, wouldn't you say that rookies get stuck with the crap jobs like speed enforcement more often than the veterans? I'm not sure there's too many seasoned officers out there who actually enjoy sitting around running radar.

Having a RD I Would think is more reason to get a ticket, for that reason, if I know Im caught, and I dont think there is anyway he saw me, I will pull the RD off the window (easier at night) as quickly as possible, and shut it off and set it on the floor.

He cannot bust me for doing that, but if he saw it, hey, too late anyway.

Thats what I always do, if I see the lights behind me, I press the unhook button, pull the radar detector off and push it between the seats and the console.

Don't they see you doing that, though? I'd think the LEO would be looking for unusual movement inside the car s/he is pulling over.

Well, if you don't move fast they don't know. I usualy try to do it before they have me pulled over. Like if I see lights on I hurry and stash it!

    Good question!

Yea, I do it before they could possibly see inside, like when they just start pulling out (if I catch em).

I think this is a good argument for darkest possible tint on the rear window.
