Default cop told me they don't aim at the headlights or lic plate...

Hey guys! I was talking with a police officer about laser and the officer told me that when aiming at vehicles they don't specifically target a certain part of the vehicle like the license plate or headlight. He said it didn't matter where they aim, they would still get your speed reading. I mention to him about the lic plate and headlights being reflective and he said that the whole car is reflective. Whats the deal with this? I just bought Veil and a laser shield, if what the officer is saying is true, then these two counter measures won't help at all. Can anyone explain this to me?

    Good!
let them keep thinking that. you will have the advantage then.

overall, aiming CM will give a reading, but it will take longer with countermeasures like Veil and LS. this has been tested and proven.

Yes it is true, especially at far distances because on some laser guns the red DOT completely covers the whole car so there is no way they can reliable target your side headlight and be sure not to get the car next to you. But in general cops just point at the center mass of vehicles. Useing LS and Veil does still help and cut down the reflectivity and obviously if there are doing a front bumper shot that so happens to be where a license plate is in close proximity to, you do not want to help reflect anything back.

If you wher to watch a few videos of the HUD display you can see how the red dot or target box bounces around even the officer trying his best to steady the shot, at that distance its bouncing all over the place. The counter measures are still worth while. It's not a waste. Especially with a LED based jammer.

Cool, that makes sense. This was a city cop who told me this. I'm guessing the officer doesn't have a lot of experience shooting laser.

Just as long the cop does not start shooting at your roof! You will be alright. I still can not believe that, GOL is awsome.

Roof shots, no problem if you put a jammer head up there!
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

The officer did know you were talking about laser, no radar right? If he was talking about laser he is probably just used to target the front of the car somewhere and getting a speeding reading easy. The officer has probably never encountered a car with Veil and/or a laser jammer.

Yeah, I have also talked with a few "friends of friends" that were cops, and they were much less knowledgable about speed measure devices and countermeasures then even me.

Also, just because they are "officers of the law"...don't assume that they are always telling you the truth. Many of the cops I have met and known are constantly a little skeptical or cynical by nature.....so just ASKING about something like "where they aim" their laser gun might be enough to raise a red flag in their mind. They may know more about things like Veil and LaserShield than they lead on.....and therefore his strategy may have been to purposely try to cloud the issue with a little misinformation......
