    Default Newby questions: Filter, RDS

    Hi there,

Thank you for reading my post. I am new to this stuff and a little out of my element.

I recently purchased an old Radar Detector from a school rummage sale (for thee bucks!) and I'm not sure how it works.

Its a BEL brand, Microeye XKR-VII

There are two switches on it that I don't know what to do with. Perhaps someone can point me in the direction of another thread that has already delt with this.

One says Filter, and the options are LO and LR...I don't knwo what these two options mean

The other switch says RDS with the same LO and LR options.

IF anyone can help out with this I would be greatly appreciative.

It's a very old Bel detector. What I can tell you is that it only detects X and K band. As far as I know, the filter switch slows down the scan when used in the city, but Jim may know more about this.[/img]
