Other than cops, who uses K & Ka Band?

Other than cops, who uses K & Ka Band? Sorry if this has been posted before.

I get a lot of what I think are false alerts on the K & Ka Band. I just got to my parent's house and parked outside...my Escort Passport 8500 X50 is showing K band detection at about 50% alert. Could it be my parent's alarm system perhaps? I get weak K and sometimes Ka band pickups all the time when driving near businesses. I wasn't aware that anything but X band was used in business, alarm systems, etc. Any info is appreciated.

K can be security, remote doors, and so on

Ka i dont know, i only get it from cops except on my cobra which seems to think stop lights emit it...POS

x and k flase. ka is almost always real.

i hope your x50 is not off tune.also its rare for a x50 to false on ka band unless you have PoP on then it will but 99.9% is a real cop when your x50 is alerting to ka source.

I don't understand how you can have POP falses? I thought POP would only be used by Police? It does go off occasionally but rarely do I ever find a cop(maybe 1 out of 20-30 times).

Also, a bit off topic...but is it possible to disable specific frequencies that I find to be false in my area?

Over here (I sure its the same there), the Ka band is a goverment-use reserved band, unlike K, Ku and X band which can be used for civil use. Thats why there are few falses in Ka band, and most falsing are in the other bands.
