i think another huge factor is that most of these people are just punk teenagers that see cobras for sale in walmart. i gotta admit though...before sittin down and doing some research, i thought cobra was a good brand. they adverstise the **** like crazy...if it were half as good as they made it out to be, valentine would be outta business. lol. "12 bands"!!
i read on another thread on here where a guy went into best buy and was askin the guy which rd was the best and he said cobra cuz it had 12 bands and the others only had like 3 or 4.
I was at the beach with a few freinds and in the parking lot i saw one of there cars had a RD in it so it took a closer look at it. It looked like one of the better cobra detector (not that any of them are good, but i think this might have been their flagship model or whatever). Anyways i said "i see you have a radar detector." He said "it's the best one in the world it saves me all the time." I just walked away. I can't believe that some people really believe that cobras are the best. You would think that they would get the idea already.
12 band detection, I wouldn't be surprised if they advertise it as detecting vascar :!:
Cuz that would be false advertising. They aren't false advertising with 12 bands - Its just that you can classify as "all radar" and "4 lasers" with 1 useless safety system.Originally Posted by WRC

I have a buddy with a BMW 540 and a POS RD. I don't remember which brand. I think some people just figure they're all alike and just not bother to do research. I research every d@mn thing I buy. My mp3 player, my digital camera, EVERYTHING. It usually pays off.
Heck, a BMW driver probably doesn't research cars either. If he did, he'd buy a Lexus. :-)
Even worse, more places may outlaw them all together....as it it most LEO's don't think they work anyway and because of the number of crappies out there, who can blame them? We need all those folks to keep getting tickets with the crappies and not catch on to the few that actually work well.
hey slower joe, my family drives bmw and are WAY better than some pos lexus my dad had and 01' gs400 one of the top models, he sold it after test driving a bimmer :P
My dad's friend had a BMW, always in the shop, traded it in on a new Ford Aerostar!
maybe ny family has gotten lucky :? always worked for us
