    Default Extended Warranty

Can you get a longer waranty on the STI from Roy?
I don't see anything on the site.

I'm up between the V1 and the STI, and I'm a weee bit concerned about Bel's quality control issues.

    My $0.02 on these
    Ka - no clear winner
k-x - both do the job
laser - V-1 wins by a long shot
display - V-1 has the arrows the STI is easier to read
    stealth - STI hands down

So the question for me is two fold:
What's more important in performance, laser here in GA so the V1 is the better bet or the run through VA 5-6 times a year where the stealth is the priority.
Which one will I have no problems with, because if it's in the mail it's not doing me any good at all.

Given there's been no confirmation that Va uses Spectre and the rather wimpy penalty if you are caught I'd lean towards the V1.

Default Didn't someone get picked up?

I thought someone with a V1 in a M3 (concealed in the rear brake light) got picked up in VA or am I mixing this up with somewhere else?

One of the "lotsa boxes" stores sells a 4yr warranty for $44 on the BEL which would be a very wise investment. But I'd rather support Roy and this site.

If you get a jammer, then isn't the Laser on the V1 not so important? You'd get alerted by the jammer.

I can see where the "I'm so confused as to what detector to buy" threads start.

This is one of those threads I guess...lol ops:

Think you are mixing this up. The ticket is $90 but they dont confiscate the rd so its more of a licensing fee in my view.

Yes if you bought a jammer then the value of the V1 goes down somewhat. Still the arrows and the threat display are valuable tools.

Probably still some bugs with the Sti but they do appear to be trying to improve their quality control although there are horror stories.

Between the threads on here, talking with police, and my own experience, I haven't run across spectre here in va yet.

    Default both

Both the V1 and the Bel STi are good units. Good luck in making up your mind.

I did see a test with spectre & V-1, it can only detect the V-1 at less than 161 feet. and if it is hidden and a power shut-off switch is readily available, you should be golden.

But what is the sense of hiding a unit that to be used in it's full potential has to be in plain view?

Or you could add a concealed display & audio adapter.

For that type of coin, ( in a restricted area only) My choice would be the STI.

V-1 owns laser, but not if it is buried in a brake light!!

If you have a jammer, the laser capabilities of the V-1 would be useless excess anyways. The jammer is already covering that base.

But, the V1 will have a much better chance of picking up a scatter reflection. A jammer will generally only alert and take care of business when you've already been hit. The V1 has a fairly good probability of alerting you before you've been in that situation, which reduces the risk of a ticket tremendously.
