    Default Laser from behind

Does anyone know if you can get laser'd from behind or do you have to be oncoming in order for the laser gun to clock your speed?

Yes. Laser works with both approaching and receding vehicle.

Its getting more common. A number of agencies around the country seem to be getting wise to its advantages.

I think we are seeing the beginning of the laser ambush from behind trend.

Nice that the V1 has in addition to a rear radar antenna and a rear laser sensor.

Given that there are rarely any cloth hood bug covers, even less likelihood of any jammers and a lot of detectors have much more difficulty picking up targets from behind, use of lidar on the rear of cars can be extremely effective.

Given that most cars have more squared back ends then they do front ends, coupled with the fact the LEO is often concealed shooting at point blank range, your aquisition time to get a reading on LIDAR when measuring form the rear is blisteringly fast.

The only downside is that you need to have interceptors down the road to call the targets down to, if you want to have a better impact.

    Cheers

That's true if its a highway with higher speeds. Around here I've seen a moto cop doing it at spot where the speed drops from 60 to 35 with light just up the block. Even the speeding cars are moving slow enough that a motocycle could catch then easily.

As for countermeausers, well you are right of course. If you could get a jammer head or two back there you'd be covered. Unfortunately most cars don't have very good mounting positions in the back. Veil would probably help some.
