Will radar pass through plastic?

I've been reading this forum and looking at many pics of installs and noticed that some people house RD's in plastic boxes to hide them.

I understand that laser is impeded but will radar be affected?

Paint shouldn't affect it unless it's metallic paint or something, which would still pass but not very well. Of course laser is obfuscated...

I get better detection mounted on my plastic windshield of my crotch rocket than I do inside my car mounted to the glass windshield.

Plastic does not hinder radio transmissions. Metal and metallized Mylar is what will cause problems.

So casing a detector within a plastic container should not decrease sensitivity to a point where you would notice it without sensitive lab equipment to test it with.

Radar ( any radio waves ) will not be affected by paint unless it is a metallic based paint. Most ( commercial) automotive paints still contain lead though.

So this is the real cause of accidents, Lead Poisoning from car paint.
Exposing people to lead has serious effects. Here our government cracks down on speed and reckless driving, Hum mm now we know what causes it!
