Cobras have the Best sales people??

Hello there,

Most people new to RDs, at least I can say that about my self, their first buy unfortunately but usually are the Cobras.

Than like myself, after getting a ticket too, realize what a stupid mistake I made.

The point am trying to make is the Cobras have No1 marketing, sales people. They are so great especially with novice people new to RDs, that they convince them that Cobras are the best.

But unfortunately like me I am going to return my XRS-9675 & go for a Bel RX 65.

My questions are am I making the smart choice to switch to RX 65?
Secondly should I buy RX 65 or X55 passport, from the same RadioShack?

My biggest enemy is instant ON…

While in City mode I usually keep my RD off, I use it mostly on highways & there am doing at least plus 50mph than the recommended & the Leo with the Instant On is waiting for me.....

You drive 50 over the posted limit on a public highway? I would like you to hear my comments on that but I'm sure it would be against the ROC for this forum.

x2 (DAmn took too long to write thats now X4 hahaha).........at that point an RD aint gonna save you, just think about it 50 over PSL makes it so you're going like a buck20, at that point instant on is only an option, LEO SEEs you going that fast and all he has to do is get on your tail and instant on there, and there are NO Rabbits that go that fast so I wont even ask about that... and then conviction i think might cost you your license

really like here let me put it mathematically:
@120MPH youre traveling 2 miles in a minute and thats (on average my X50 on a straight line gives me 1mile, bear in mind this is at about 70mph and running Constant-on K-band) so that means you cover that in 30seconds (assuming you dont slow down at all) but fact is yes you will slow down and that means you have a bit more than that, but you also have the threat of instant-on if thats Ka then its bad... Cops also love to find good hiding spots where there is an obstruction to RD detection range...

fact of the matter is that NO RD not the X50 or the RX-65 or even the mighty V1 can help you in a situation like that at those speeds it doesnt matter, sure a little warning can get you to slow down, but like I said earlier there are NO sane rabbits that go that fast so if its instant on its VERY likely that youll be the one that offers the warning to 10 or 15 over PSL RD users (and as one of those 15over PSL people i like people like you people ).......RDs are recievers nothing more, a smart RD user realizes that youre not trying to detect the Radar gun but its signals.... and thus you know that an RD only does its job if theres somebody else to be hit first, not you

sorry for being so long but you just gotta realize that theres gotta be a limit, the cops saw the vid of FF05 allegedly doing 110 in a 45PSL and if you saw that video of the talk afterwards youll know that the cops REALLY frown on that due to the safety hazards to others (Speed doesnt kill, its the DIFFERENCE in speed that kills), sure at a certain point they wont chase after you because of the risk to the other law abiding drivers and themselves but its just not cool

To answer your question:

Unless you can get an unbelievable deal elsewhere (like I luckily did), I would buy a radar detector from Roy here on this website. I trust him, plus from what I hear once you buy from him you are a customer for life.

Secondly, your speeding is insane. I bought a radar detector for the first time in ten years because I disagree with the system. Most state and local governments are using traffic citations for revenue enhancement. I got nailed for doing 85 in a 70 last year when I was going slightly slower than the flow of traffic. I was MAD. I got nailed by LIDAR just because I happened to be in the lane closest to the LEO. But what could I do? 85 in a 70 IS illegal.

A radar detector is not a license to drive like a maniac, endangering your life and the lives of innocent others. It is a device to let you know when you're monitored in order to protect yourself from unfair government practices. When I drive 85, I believe in my heart I am driving at a SAFE speed, because I am young, with good reflexes, vision, and driving a modern, safe vehicle.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN. You will eventually become a statistic. And when you do, and they find that radar detector in your vehicle, you will be more evidence for the safety-Nazis and the government to ban radar detectors for good.

I really and truly hope that this guy is telling some tall tales and exagerations thinking that the folks on here will think he's cool or something. I'm hoping this is the case for the sake of the driving public of Orlando Florida. Or another scenario I'm hoping for is that this guy is a LEO and fishing around for our reaction.

If I'm wrong, then Darwins theory will take care of him. Hopefully not at the expense of other drivers.
