With what I have been seeing with these 3.851 V1's and members stating the KA range, I am certain the X50 will provide better Ka detection.
    Bull!!!

If you want good KA range get a BEL RX65!!! It spanks both the Escort and V1

V1 is only good for stalker KA-band frequency as well as all of K and X

CHP might be swutching to the deadly talon guns
where did you get information that the CHP might be switching guns?

For what it's worth, I have pretty much lost all faith in the V1's real world Ka ability. I'm back to using the X50, which is saying something as I've had numerous quality problems with them in the past (see my very first post in this forum for details).

As far as CHP coming up behind you and using radar, they usually don't. Their favorite tactic in that situation is pacing.

CHP use Ka, laser and some do use K. I got blasted with instant on K from a CHP about 2 months ago in the canyons. Ka is by far their choice, but don't sleep on the K band.

NP man, just tryin to help...........honestly, I think the V1 is overrated (and certainly overpriced) and all that, and the RX-65 is a bit lacking as opposed to the X50 in terms of features, the performance difference is a hundred feet or so on Ka...so what, that what like 1 second difference at highway speed, not much at all once you sit down and run the numbers
100 feet difference on Ka. Not true. Please don't disregard those few hundred feet, they can and will make a differnce in the real world.

but remember those CONTROLED environment test have almost no bearing on actual REAL WORLD experiences, and in that light ive seen that they operate about the same on this board

i hardly doubt 100ft would actually help out in real world, not if you're going 80 mph... it's probably less than .5 sec but either detector will provide enough protection if he's running constant on

Yeah. 80mph is 117.33 ft/sec... so 100 ft. better range only translates to 0.85 secs more advanced warning. So basically it covers your reaction time :? .

i am not a bel fan. id much rather have an x50. thansk for the feedback though.
Actually, if you get an X50 you are basically getting a Bel and vice versa. Same company now.
I'm assuming you fell out with Bel because of quality control issues. The X50 shares those same issues in which they have addressed and have gotten better. Not V1 quality control but better.
V1 quality control went out the window with 3.851

I can agree to that, thus the mass flock to the X50....and I see youre joing the migration too, eh Staton
