    Default Placement of RD

I know that there are other places on this site that show where the optimal place to mount a RD is, but currently the place I have mine mounted seems** to be working just fine. I have a 2000 GMC Yukon, and the RD is mounted to the top left of my RVM. It is behind the green/blueish tint. How much does this affect the RD's performance?

If this is the wrong area of post, I do apologize, any assistance would be much appreciated.

If it seems to be doing fine, then I would say that it probably is. As long as the tint is non-metallic, you should be OK. As far as the best mounting position, there are TONS of posts that already exist on this topic, and by answering that I would be contributing to the kind of repeat posts that we are trying to get rid of.

I dont believe that it is metallic tint, how can I be sure? Can you tell if it is metal? Would you like for me to take a photo and post it?

This is very simple. You can use an cheap Cobra, go to your local mall, grocery store, convenience store, anything that has an automatic door opener. Set your car up in the back of the parking lot where the signal strength is constant and on the lower end of the scale. Now raise the RD up to behind the tint. Take note of any changes in signal strength.

    SIMPLE!

If you have the factory tint (most likely dye in the windshield) only then it won't affect radar, just laser, so don't worry about it.
