    Default Radar Gun frequency

Not sure if this is posted any where but could we do a sticky that list Radar guns and their confirmed Freq. I would like to know what my local Leo's use and I am sure others would to. So If any of you know Freqs. of guns please post and we'll start a list. thank you

    In a nutshell:

    All USA K-Band = 24.150 GHz +/- 100 MHz
    All USA X-Band = 10.525 +/- 100 MHz

All MPH Industries Ka radar units = 33.8 GHz +/- 100 MHz
All Stalker Ka radar units = 34.7 GHz +/- 100 MHz
    All Kustom/Decatur/Mccoys Ka radar units = 35.5 GHz +/- 100 MHz

That's all there is to it. No way to tell a specific model gun for certain based on the freq, but sometimes you can tell the manufacturer for Ka units.

Thanks Jimbonzzz....... That's what I needed.
I believe all the Leo's in my area have KA Stalker
units and I wanted to varify this by SpecMode.
I get duel threads with KA alot and was curious
if they were using the DSR-2X model. Would this
be located in the 34 Ghz range such as all
    Stalkers? thanks

Yep...anything in spec mode between 34.600-34.800 is Stalker, maybe even 34.550-34.850 since spec display can be a bit off sometimes...

As far as the DSR-2X: I would be surprised if this was as widespread as some people seem to think it is.

Yeah, you could be right on that.
    Must be KA ghosting.
I've been getting a lot of that lately for some reason.

It cant be ghosting, cant it? i mean cant you pick up the cops front cone and the rear cone-- showing that the X50 is picking up two KA bands?

I ran into a local speed trap today that was set up in my area so I decided to flip into Spec mode and drive through a few times. The trap consided of 2 State Troopers one running Constant X and the other running Instant KA.

Well, I drove through 3 times and these are the Freqs. I recieved.
KA: 33.662 and 35.500. The Freq changed the second time I went through, any idea why? Because of the freq change, I can't detemine the gun. Also I was amazed to see a hidden trooper using X: 10.524. This was in a non falsing area so I can verify the X was real.

On the KA Trooper I noticed I always recieved 2 KA bars which is this ghosting I keep talking about. I am far enough away but still keep getting 2 bars of KA.... I just don't get this. I understand if it ghost at extemely close range but I'm talking 500 feet or more. I wish I knew why this happened.

Hey Master Jim, can you please post the websites of the above radar gun manufacturers (in case you have them) so I (and anybody else curious about it) can identify the radar guns our local LEOs have in their cruisers? For instance, I've seen from outside the cruiser how the newest radar guns look like, way smaller than the traditional MPH ones, but I wasn't able to read the manufacturer name or logo on the gun... TIA Jim...

Hey Jim maybe you know this..... why do the manufacturers use different frequencies (Ka)? Did they choose them or did the FCC decide? Also the cops in our town have 3 different brand Ka units.......... weird.
