The 895 has just amazed me with Ka from what I have seen, though I leave it in my brother’s truck since my truck has so much electrical noise “it alerts to laser all the time in my truck”. I am hoping to find some cops running constant on radar (Ka band) when I get a break from college and compare it to the V1 and X-50. I do not expect it to have the same range, but I am betting it will do pretty dam good considering how cheap it is. The K, X, and laser is better on the V1 as would be expected, but I have not calculated the approximate distance or time between them, since I do not have any time to do it. I definitely want to compare them just for the hel of it when I get a chance, but that will be at least a couple of months away.

I agree with Meteoric, many people simply dont own both... so personally:

I will be the 2nd to say, the V895 is an extremely good detector. It is really near spot-on against the x50/V1, yes it will be somewhat less'er' as far as range, but for the price it is absolutly fantastic, your obviously not going to have the same range, and you (do) give-up a ton of features... but in the long run, I would suspect the V895 to be only a (small) notch behind for (radar) detection. (Especially Ka band).

X2 Air, the 895 is a fine detector and some people seem to over look its capabilities. As far as Audi Quattro's analogy, "Porsche vs. Civic, this is way off base. It's more like Lexus GS400 vs Toyota Camry. Both are quality vehicles, but one with less features.

I'm sorry I have better taste then think about a toyota product. They are too boring to me. Is this better?...Porsche vs. a 318i BMW?

Boring maybe, but they do make a good reliable product. Same with Honda. Off topic, sorry.

    Default Not quite...

I hate to be a bubble-buster, but that is not a fair comparison either. Toyota and Lexus are the same company. One is a luxury model of the other. Valtentine and Beltronics are not the same company. I think a better comparison would be a Chevy Vette vs. a Ford Mustang GT. They are both have good performance, but one is a step up in performance and features, and they are both competing companies.

    Basic Vette - 400hp [Stock]
Basic Mustang GT - 300hp [Stock]

Like said before, you do get what you pay for.
Vector 895 is a great detector, good performance, especially for its sale price at R.S.
V1 is also a great performing detector, more expensive and better performance.
