Default Looking to get a top three detector, cant make a decision.

Well i have never gotten a ticket before but i want to make sure i dont get one  . I have done alot of research into a detector and other counter measures such as veil or a jammer.

The V1 seems to be pretty much the best at laser detection, which is somewhat important to me because the state patrol seems to be in love with it, couple with it with veil and laser shield (im not sure if LS is legal in nebraska, i know jammers arnt :x ) and im pretty sure i would have a good safety net to go about 5 to 15 over the limit.

The Escort 8500 x50 seems to be the best on Ka detection, which i know makes up 90% of the guns, but i wonder if it would let me down when i would need it most in a laser encounter. I have read alot of reviews as well that say the V1 is alittle bit later (by a few seconds) in Ka detection but gives the driver enough time to slow down as well.

Im not sure about the Beltronics rx65 other than it wins alot of top three competitions. I do believe the beltronics strenght is in instant on or pop radar, i dont know about that one.

Basically, i dont want to get some crappy detector that is going to let me down, i have a subaru Legacy GT and unless i get something soon im going to be in trouble  .

    Suggestions would be nice lol.

V1 or X50, i have owned the V1 and own a X50 and i have not yet experianced laser with the X50 but from what i have heard it is good, The V1 i had was great, but VR is having some problems with the new V1 so in my PERSONAL OPINION i say got X50, they V1 may alert to laser a second quicker then the X50... but the fact is no matter what detector you use, if you are hit with laser without a jammer its too late, so i wouldnt base your choice off of laser detection.

I agree, get the X50 and combine it a quality laser jammer and veil and you will be set.

If they are banned, the V1 or X50 +Veil would be your best protection for legal reasons.

well this is pretty much the conclusion i have come too.

The Valentine one is a fine detector but the 8500 x50 is just a better unit. Im going to wait for my purchase however to see if Mr. Valentine can pull a rabbit out of his hat with version 1.9, well see.

X50 is a good OVERALL detector, its got a more modern display, Excellent detection range, a bunch of customization options, its ALOT more "User friendly" than the V1 in terms of programming and all that, AND its the cheapest of the top3 (Unless you go Blue, then its the 2nd most expensive, right under V1)

V1 is a good performance enthusiasts unit, it offers better detection range than most (But its like checks and balances, VR takes something, and Escort takes something else equally important in detection), its got alot of advanced features, Rear antenna helps, Arrows help but if youve never used them before it shouldnt matter to you (If you have, youll never want to go back to anything without um)

all in all id say if money is an issue go X50, if you want a great RD and money is no issue, go V1..................... Really though, you can NOT go wrong with either one

keep in mind that NO rd will save you from laser. rare instance if it picks up scatter. but if laser is a big concern, perhaps consider a lasr jammer.
