Default KA and Rashid Radar Brake Collision Warning System

I took a trip last weekend and noticed yet again while around
18 Wheelers, I would get Full KA alerts. I called Escort and
spoke to someone that stated that some 18 Wheelers
are equipped with something called a
"Rashid Radar Safety Brake Collision Warning System".
She told me that in the past it had been on the K band but
now the FCC has allowed them to transmit in the KA band.
    Can anyone validate this? Thanks

    That's a long link......

Yeah, I am aware that it uses K but I'm wondering
if they have models that use KA. I've search the net but can't
seem to find anything about the company that makes the unit
    or differents products they carry.

So this would be the first legally used Ka band that not used for police or speed detection? Great what next? Ka gradge door openers? Wonderful.

oh please, this is just the government trying to make RD's useless (AGAIN). I mean sure it all great for safety and all, but if it was really about safety, why do they need to be allowed Ka and well as K band. Hmmm Ka is only the most common radar now ... i wonder how that happened. Hell why the hell they have to use K and Ka band, why not use X band, along all the other commercial uses of Radar.

The only blessing for us here is that the system is probably somewhat expensive and cost prohibitive to outfit on all tractor trailers. Its an added cost without much benefit, therefore most trucking companies are not going to pay for it, drivers will have to buy it themselves. They people who are shipping goods with a haller probably have cargo insurance. In most cases tractor trailer hallers dont use a company rig either.

    Atleast i would think so.
