    Default RD illegal

In how many years do you guys think that RD's will become illegal. If they do become illegal will everyone on this forum get rid of their x50's and get the beltronics undetectable one? the one that is immune to RDD's?

as long as cops are under the general impression that these things dont work, we're OK............ but when that day comes there will be many more stealth RDs due to there being an increased demand for them

I completely agree, but there will probably new RDD to find us.

Every LEO I ask about radar detectors say they don't work and how they stop people all of the time with them. I nod my head and move on to something else. It's not an argument I would win nor want too.

right but its like the military in this way......... as somebody develops a new weapon, the other person develops new countermeasures and it keeps going in an eternal circle like that

Agreed once detectors become illegal all the Detector companies will begin to make completely stealthed units. I have heard through the grapevine that the new escort X( Add number here ) will be as stealth as the STI. No one really knows for sure and the ones that do are on a hush hush clause. Anyways the point is it's a cat and mouse game. If big companies such as Escort, Whistler, & Valentine decide to leave the detector market because of legal reasons the black market will take over. These units will be at a premium cost but there will always be counter measure devices.

Will these 3 companies still be able to sell RD's in the united states? or will we have to buy them from Europe or Mexico or something??

I really don't understand how they can go around saying "they don't work."

Oh really? On my last 3K mile drive I probably avoided 10-12 tickets. I still have zero on my record.

But seriously...are they retarded or something? Are they just saying that they don't work against an instant on threat? Well in that case...they are partially right. If you have a good rabit in front of you...you're normally just fine.

does it really matter what makes um think that way, just as long as they DO think that way its all good

reason IMHO, is that they pull over plenty of people with RDs, whether its an RMR or a Cobra or even a V1, its all the same to them, an RD........... and then there are the LEOs with RDs in their privately owned vehicles....... well they won't be saying anything any time soon

the reason they believe RDs dont work is because every time they pull someone over for speeding its someone with a RMR, cobra or something similar. this makes their argument valid because these types of radars simply dont work.

if they become illegal companies such as RMR with start marketing the new RMR 500 or something which they will tell us is undetectable, in reality this will most likely be false since RMR makes crap and lies to everyone about its performance.

    hopefully that makes sense.
