boo to my car message board...
So this guy on my camaro message board is looking for a decent yet cheap rd... unfortunately about 10 people recommended him to get a Cobra before i got to see the thread... i gave him this site and some simple info about cheaper detectors and told him to look at cheaper bels and whislters... hopefully he doesnt go with cobra... poor sucker...
Man, you should have made a post on that board already to tell people that Cobras are bottom-line.
But, it shows ya how well Cobras sell. :shock:
That's OK. On the 6Club forums, when I said I was looking for an RD, the wolves attacked, saying how RDs don't work and I'm an idiot for getting one. Morons.

EXACTLY!!! no one wants to hear that cobras suck, and whenever you bring up x50 or v1, they all scream WASTE OF MONEY.... its a shame you just cant get the simplest things through their heads... lets see, ONE $300 rd, or a couple $150 tickets and points on your license, not to mention increased insurance rates... hmm, not a tough choice to me.... owell....
Theres one other person on the board that told him to go with the whistler 1788... i guess thats still better than a cobra, and i told him about the pro-58... I also linked him to this site AGAIN and told him to read around a bit and talk to roy...
If the forum in question is anything like the car forums I hang out on then there's a new "What radar detector should I get?" thread every couple of days. I think the regulars who know a thing or two about RDs get so sick of it all that they just ignore those threads leaving it to the ignorant to respond. :roll:
Maybe it's better (for us) to let them think that. Keep the bears fed and happy so they won't demand new tactics to defeat us, like 10 ms. POP, drones, RD bans, etc. Maybe I'm too cynical, but if they want to be morons, there's not a whole lot you can do about it.

Most people who frequent sites that I go to recommend the V1. Of course I always mention that if you live in or travel through an RD banned area, the STi is the only choice.
I recommended someone to the site the other day. They got a X50 red which i was happy. He called radar roy who suggested that, but said it was better than the V1 as well. Hmm.. he is just making a sale so i dont blame him.
