Default Settings for Whistler Pro-58 & Mounting

Hey I'm back...I'm getting my detector probably monday and now I have a few more questions.

1)What do you guys think I should have it set-up for driving on I-87 (NY Thruway)?

    POP ON or OFF??
    VG-2 ON or OFF??
Any other settings to worry about?

    2) When mounting it, is there like a bracket so i can easily take it down and put it in my glove compartment or is it JUST suction cups directly from the detector to the window?

    3) Where should i mount it specifically? Middle of windshield kinda low seems ideal for me...can reach it and its not in the way.

    Thanks guys

POP ON, VG-2 OFF, don't rely on it too much on the Thruway.

Is there a lot of POP in NY? If not, I would turn it off, cause you will get a ton of falses. VG2 definitely off.

The suction cups are on a quick release bracket that will stick to the window. It can be taken off pretty fast with a press of a button.

I would mount it high (low would help with laser, but you aren't going to pick up any laser anyways until you are getting tagged). To be honest, I don't think that the position of the detector (high or low) makes THAT MUCH DIFFERENCE. However, I personally dont like my RD to be in plain sight (even in a state where it is legal). LEOs won't give you any break if they see it and others may try to use you as a rabbit.
