Ka 33.200 coming from an HCS PU?

I got a blip of Ka 33.200 on 45N this morning. I take all Ka seriously so I shut it down. Over the next overpass I see a Harris County Sherriff pulling over a suburban. Is Ka 33.200 a real frequency or did I pick up a false and the traffic stop was a coincidence?

I think that this is a question for Jim...lol. But the range as I understood it was 33.4 through 36.0 GHz

A lot of people have seen this, and it is sort of a quirk in some of the Belscorts. Perhaps the detector is locking on to an image frequency or something. Don't ignore it though: I've personally see them do this under test conditions with an actual radar unit operating at 35.5 GHz.

Ok, that's good to know. When I got it I was actually looking to see if any cars around me had an RD. I was suprised when I saw the pullover since I thought it was a false.

My X50 shows this frequency when passing by an LEO with a Kustom Eagle unit. I always wondered if it was something to do with the "transition" from the front antenna to the rear antena. Jim???

I don't think so, because it does it even on radar units with only one antenna.

If his radar was turned on, you don't get a blip with it. You should have gotten a full meter alert if he was close enough. You did not mention how far was LEO from your position when you got the blip. Just wondered about the distance.

Jimbonzz is right. With only one antenna, the golden eagle(not the eagles - i believe they're K band and correct me if i'm wrong) will show 35.515 and transition to 33.690 as you pass by the source. This change of frequency causes the X50 to show double bogey with the golden eagle Ka band in expert mode. Just did the test last week with this.

Maybe a half mile when I got a half meter alert then it went quiet. This is a regular hideout for HCS and HPD. It's behind a hill created by an overpass.
