I found a radar/laser detector in my car. HELP, HELP

I'm new to this, and I have a question for any one out there who might have info on this. I recently bought a '91 legend and when I was detailing it I found out it has a laser/radar detector hardwired into the car, the wiring was stuffed up behind the dash and the controler for it was in the glove box, I plugged it into the wiring and at first it did not come on, turns out the in line fuse was blown( the previous owner must have thought it stopped working all together) , I replaced the fuse and sure enough it comes on and works as far as I know. I cant find any info on this particular detector, any info on if this is a good detector, how I know if its working properly, What other peices/sensors I should look for on the car to make sure I have the complete unit would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your time and help in advance..

Its a SUPER EYE CE500 sorry it takes me so long to rply I am new to this and I cant get to the computer very quickly.

Hard to say, but it *might* be a vintage Whistler.
But regardless, I don't think it will offer you much protection against today's radar units.

Does it have a manufacturer on it?

It's very small. on the face above where it say's SUPER EYE CE500, it says TRIPLE SUPERHETERODYNE XK-FR. On the bottom of it it lists the serial # CY-9005872 and below that it says, Designed in the United States, Made in Taiwan R.O.C.

Could you post a photo of it?
That would help greatly.

However, as jimbonzzz has stated with todays Radar Guns that old
Detector will probably not help you. You need something more modern
that's designed to take on todays Radar Guns.

Get hit once or twice by KA and you'll see what I mean.

Thanks for the response, I will try and get some pics posted. I also found a small rectangular box (aftermarket) mounted to the nottom of my rear bumper and another one mounted on the bottom of my front bumper. I assume these are for detecting laser signals, is that an accurate assumption?
