Default Run 2 RDs at the same time & improve range if I...????

If I take my V1 and turn off X and K
Take my X50 and turn off X and Ka

My V1 is only scanning for Ka and my X50 is only scanning for K (I do not need X here).

Since each detector is scanning through a smaller frequency than it would if it was searching 2 bands would I get farther range in the single band???

If so: I would assume Ka range would barely, if at all, increase and K range should increase quite a bit.

If the 2 detectors are interfering with each other would using 2 STi's do the trick? What other detectors are known not to leak?

No, the oscillators are still operating and can still cause interference, even if one doesn't cause alerts on the other.

Most likely not. In order for this to happen, the detector must be specifically designed to change the sweep in response to other bands being turned off, such as the RX-65's USA/INTL, V1's "Euro Mode", and the various BEL international units like the Target 550. In most cases, turning off bands only turns off the reporting of that band, and does not change the sweep.

Even though the STi beats the Spectre, it DOES still "leak". No matter which two detectors are used, running them together in the same vehicle isn't recommended...

I believe this has been mentioned before but maybe Jim could post a "sticky" about why not to run 2 RDs together and why disabling bands does not help....this may have been done , but I could not find it. JMO.

What if you use one rd is facing out the rear window and the another facing forward out the windshield? Would they still interfere with each other?

They would definitely still have the potential to interfere with each other, so it isn't something I would recommend.

yeah i remember some guy saying that he used to run a detector in the back windshield and one in the front. I remember him saying something about getting bad K band warnings

You could run two detectors in the same vehicle at once if you put one in a properly constructed Faraday cage. However that one will about as sensitive to radar as a potato.

I have run a whistler and an X50 one on the front windshield and one on the rear windshield. My detection range seemed fine. I think they were far enough from each other and both fairly low leaking detectors.

The whistler was picking up LEO's from behind way faster than the X50 did. So, you may argue that the X50 was affected, but the X50's front range seemed the same.

I don't see a problem running two STi's one on the front and one on the back. The one on the rear windshield will get much better detection than the forward facing detector.

Probably the best idea would be dual SR7's. You can install them on the car and make special cases that only expose the front of the detector and have a glass window to protect it. Then you could have both of the screens next to each other and determine the radar source depening on which one has a stronger signal, like a V1.

He could probably run any number of Bel STIs.
