they are sold at advance auto parts stores for 5.88 versus the 20 dollars of radar roys site, if you need 'em

^ They're sold just about everywhere.

And yes, typical "street retail" is around 5 to 8 dollars, before tax.

Just about every major retail automotive parts chains carry this item, and you can even find it at many of the larger national retail "discount" chains, in their "automotive" sections.

Roy simply offers them as a convenience, and as such, it's not unreasonable to ask for a bit more. Like the old saying goes: "you pay for convenience."

i looked all over the place including other car parts stores and advance was the only place i could find them...6.30 after tax for mine

definitely a nifty little thing though, makes hooking up things in the car a lot easier and cleaner

That's the trouble with such stores - parts are hit-and-miss, although many will "special-order" for you.

Here in Metro-Cleveland (east-side suburbs), would you believe it....Advance Auto is the only chain that does NOT carry the product. :?: :?:

I've seen it at both AutoZone as well as Murray's Discount Auto, which are the other two that are closest to me.

Go figure.

lol... im impressed with the ease of these things for hooking anything up using a fuse... is there any negative side effects to these?

I just used the wires leading into the cigarette lighter to hardwire mine... the cigarette lighter kept cutting out so i just used those wires and hide all the wires.

hardwired above RVM behind heavy non metallic tint strip.(Cops don't like RD's especially them in your windshield)

^ I'm old-fashioned, too - I vamp/T-tap or plug directly into the fuse spade.

^ Not that I know of - but then again, I'm also only a weekend shade-tree greasemonkey wrench, and definitely *far* from an electrician.

Autozone near me had them, but not Advance.

This does make hardwiring a lot easier.

I keep mine totally invisible, I like my fuse box as it is, so I take all measures to wire it to my stereo system, and powered therough the battery, sure a $10 relay is much more tha add-a-circuit, but mine is powering the RD, G-meter, and the amp in the trunk, so I got off good..... its fun once you know what youre doing, its the joy of doing your work and taking care of your car

I'm fond of telling my infant daughter (15 months; and she loves waving "bye bye" to Winky, as we put her to sleep in the garage for the night, after picking up my daughter from our nanny or after an errand trip) to "take care of your car, it will then always take care of you."
