Default A very silly question (x band)

I know I will be mocked for this but.......has anyone ever encountered a legitmate x band radar? I could possibly see this in a very small and/or poor town that had the old technology still.

Note: My x band is off as is most people's.

It's still used in New Jersey and other places, but very seldom will you encounter it, but it is still used otherwise it wouldn't be a feature on your detector, you don't see S band on the current models

    Default welcome

Welcome newcomer and yes that is a legit question you asked. X is used as said above in NJ, especially in OH, IN still has some unit, some smaller towns in western IL still use it, NC, Oregon, some smaller towns in western WI, Suffolk county NY still uses x band and not sure how many units they have, and if I missed some others, I am sure someone else will join in here.

I live in OH and ive seen that state troopers like to use X band a lot when in the city limits and Ive gotten a few hits when they are driving from the opposite direction. Ive only had one encounter when a trooper was stationary using X band, but its definetly out there.

Dang, hasn't this been covered like a million times already.

But, remote NC counties still uses X band as well as the ones above that have been mentioned.

Just last night I saw two HP shooting X near a bridge on the interstate. My X50 was getting three X alerts which was weird, then I spotted them. I know the HP is upgrading to Ka but the X guns are still in use.

The NCSHP use it often but their main weapon is " Instant On " KA.

X band is alive and well in many areas. Disable it at your own risk.

So many are disabling X band, if I were a traffic cop I would be begging for an X band radar!
