Default Big trip driving all the way through virginia, and DC

What do you guys think? Would you drive all the way the way through Virginia and DC with the Escort 8500 X50. I know it has a lot of leakage. I was thinking about putting it on my dash with reversible sided tape and putting a cloth over it since i don't have a lot of time to mount it anywhere else
Who would drive to Washington through the whole state of Virginia? Anyone?

I got more range with a high mount but then again my car is low, other than that you should be ok with it

I wouldn't say the X50 has a lot of leakage but if Virgina and Washington have Spectra's you will get caught. I'm thinking that Virginia only have VG2's but I could be wrong. Hopefully some people from these areas chime in and let us know that they are using as far as RDD's.

I've been past a dozen LEO's in the past month and about half of those with no other traffic and no problems so far, I do switch it off after seeing the patrol car

i thought i remember reading there was a "report" of a small city in VA that had Spectre's but it was never confirmed and i think you will be ok as long as your watching your mirrors and have it some what hidden

Someone said something about Ashland, Va but nothing to confirm it...so far. Some say there are no Spetres in Va. :?:

I drive through DC and VA all the time, it's a non-issue as long as you are sensible about it. Don't have it sitting square in the middle of the windshield and take it down once you know you have bogeys in the area. On Monday I got totally pasted by Dulles Airport Police with my Blinder active for about 8 seconds. THe guy just looked at me and tagged the next guy. DC is a bit of a pain because there seem to be a lot of drones. VA has drones on 95S but not many. I also got stopped and searched during some weird stuff going on by the Capitol Police and the guy didn't even take a second look at my V1.

The only thing you have to worry about in VA is the VG2, if the 8500 is even detectable to it.
Also, it would help to not leave it hanging from the center of your windshield. Just use some common sense and you'll be fine.
