my boyfriend drives a 2001 Audi a6 Cuattro. he got it last week and loves to speed!
his bday is in 15 days, and i want to get him a radar detector. does anyone know of a good radar detector which is not too expensive. i don't want to spend too much money.

You might consider getting him a gift card for $100 or so. Then he can put some more money on it and get one of the top three.

Loves to speed? A RD wont be of much help. Try talking him out of becoming an organ donor. That way he will be your boy friend longer.

I think my Beltronics 940 is probably the best band for buck, when looking under $200. I need a better RD though. You should get him a gift car or look on ebay for a NICE detector. I think you can get a new RX65 off ebay for $220.

I'd get him an Escort 8500 X50.
Great detector that won't drive him nuts with false alerts.

I've had mine for 3 years ( No tickets ever !!! ).
Of course you have to know how to use your detector
but all in all, It's saved me many a time.

What's your price range?
The X50 will run you $299.00

I'm going to be very up front with you, anything under
$120.00 isn't all that great.
