    Default why spend hundreds?

people I am mistified. Why spend so much money on a radar detector when you can purchase one for allot less and have the same performance? My Bel940 has served me well and is still serving me well to this day and I wouldn't change it for anything. GOL results show this test after test. Is 5 meters more worth it? The V1 zombies really make me laugh. I don't understand their thinking

The V1 provides the earliest detection as a whole. It has arrows that indicate the radar source and it also has rear detection. No other detector has arrows or rear detection.

The V1 is a military style piece of electronics. It is a no gimmicks it works detector.

Yes you can spend less but you loose some features and detection range. I am not here to say how wonderful the V1 is and everything else is bad. Not so. I have tried many lower costing detectors and found favorable results.

My advice is to try out various detectors and then decide for yourself what matters to you.

    X2

I had some extra cash laying around, so I figured, "what the hell" and went ahead and bought my X50. Best 300 dollars I've spent.

And you never will because you don't own the best, you own a lower performing model. You can laugh all the way to the bank with the money you have saved only to write a check to your local court for that same amount when you receive a ticket because you can't detect radar from the same distance as a V1.

    Mike Valentine Says it best:

"Military Strategists agree that successful defense begins with good intelligence about the enemy."

From this we can logically deduce:

To have good intelligence you need early warnings.

Early warnings mean success/protection from the enemy and ultimately defeat of the enemy.

    Enough said..........................

I use an X50. People can argue the best but I haven't received a
ticket ever and I think that's what we're all trying to accomplish here.

I say use what you like and if it works than it's doing it's job.

The Guys of Lidar and people present at the testing believe this was not an accurate display of detectors performance

It has been demonstrated that most high-end detectors are capable of many miles of range on a long, straight, flat test course. So remember: small 50-foot differences between detectors tested on our "extreme" course might easily equate to hundreds or even thousands of feet on a much longer, flatter course.
