Default Any decent, not too expensive stealth/remote detectors?

Are there are any decent remote / stealth detectors out there? Doesn't have to be great, just decent - I've been driving for years without getting a ticket, but just got a new car and would like to push it a bit more. However, I really don't want to deal with the detector always being visible. So...

I've read about the expensive ones - the sr7, RX75plus, and one that shall go nameless. But what about some of the inexpensive options - like the Whistler 3450, or the Bel975R? Are they worthwhile at all?

Are there any other (newer?) inexpensive, hidden detectors that I'm missing?

    Thanks for your help!

You could get a V1 and hide it in a box somewhere. Then just hook up the remote display, and you're set to go. I know it's been done, and it looks stealthy...or should I say, you can see it at all

Yeah, what's the point of an STi Driver if it's painfully obvious hanging out on the windscreen / windshield?

So I'm now checking out a company in Australia that says they've put together a remote mount kit / waterproof enclosure for the Driver. That's what I want -- Spectre invisible and quietly tucked away behind the grille. The Blinder Extreme is one part of various options so you can get your LIDAR protection too.

What I really wish is that the 9500i would be produced in a well shielded case so that it too could be invisible to Spectre. That way I'd have the added benefit of GPS location of known speed traps and lights.

Come to think of it since the 9500i use a satellite signal I would bet you can not remotly hide in the grill because it would need a view of the sky. On the other hand the STI prob could be hiden, but you would have limited functionality because Bel only has a smart cord option, with limited functions, the VI has a true remote display.

    Default yes

Mem-tek you are right. In terms of magnesium cases, the STi and V1 are the only rd's that have them that I know of.

Beltronics is releasing a fully installed version of its STi soon, it will be similar to an RX75 but with Total Shield Technology... I've already seen the prototype, it might be worth your wait.

I didnt get the information from anywhere, I saw the prototype myself. Its being tested now - release in July or August is my guess.
