Always Detecting X Band

Hey everyone,

I have a Whistler DE-1770 I've found that while traveling down I-10 in Arizona that it will always detect an X band signal at 4/5 strength. This happens in the city too, but it's hit or miss.

What could be causing my detector to be doing this?

Sounds to me like "Drones" on the Interstate and more than likely Grocery store door openers in the city. That's more than likely what's happening.

Drone: These emit a radar signal to make Detectors useless.

They're usually used for traffic monitoring systems. There are a ton of them around Atlanta; they're tied into the Georgia Navigator system that gives updates via signboards or the internet about traffic conditions, speeds, trip times, etc.

They would put these down 200 miles of highway?

That seems like such a waste of money!

I sort of suspected something like this though, because the signal would drop when I would go over bridges or get between trucks.
