    Default Im so confused...

    New to the forums here, came across this site researchin radar detectors for my new car. Was about to buy a cobra 9930 until I heard all the bad things about cobras...Now I'm looking for a good quality radar detector I can get for around $100-$150 real world (not msrp). Ive been looking at the whistler pro78 but whistler doesn't even have it on its website! Can get a 1793se for about $80 from LINK REMOVED, but I don't know if this model is outdated or what. People here also seem to like beltronics 940/955/970 but I dont know any authorized dealers and which is best. If you have any answers, tips, advice, anything relating to my post it'll be greatly appreciated.

    can you tell me where? Ive also seen the xtr690 for around $120 on LINK REMOVED Is it the same model? Im not even sure if LINK REMOVED is an authorized dealer...

    man, its too bad that you didn't buy the Cobra.... They make REALLY great paper weights.

    ended up buying a xtr690 for bout $115 through LINK REMOVED. Figure I can live w/o the cool blue display on the pro 78...Thanks for all the quick responses, and for saving me from cobra :/
