My cousin is going to be a senior next year in HS and went to school with a kid who was killed when he was driving tired just before the school year ended this past semester. He was on his phone talking to his mom in order to stay awake. He was less than 10 minutes from home when his mom's phone battery went dead and in the time it took for her to go into the other room, hook up her phone to the charger and fire up the phone, the son dozed off, drifted over the yellow line, sideswiped a semi truck, overcorrected, lost control and got hit by a semi-truck that was following the truck the kid clipped the first time.
    What the hell?
X2 that is a horrible instance.

Radar Roy posted this on June 24th.

The final results will not be posted for a few more weeks, however I did video a couple of my own reviews, a Blinder M-45 install and I am hoping to have those online this coming week.
If we assume that a "few more weeks" is about 3 weeks then the release date is around the 15th of July.

Maybe I'm naive, but what kind of mother would NOT tell the kid to pull over and catch some rest??

It all comes down to common sense.

Taking a 10 minute nap will be better than forcing yourself to try awake.

Naturally the human body will relax and maybe mentally doze a bit when you're on the road late at night w/ nothing around you and everyone else in the car is sleeping. But if you literally have to crank the music, or call someone to stay awake - you shouldn't be driving.

Studies have shown that you're better off drinking and driving than you are driving when you're tired. Google if you don't believe me.

No kidding, drowsy driving is absolutely dangerous and the only thing that cures it is REST. I did FIRST robotics in high school, and it's very common to get overworked competition weekends and have to resort to various methods for doing all nighters (particularly me as the programmer, one of the only people who can actually bring back some sort of work or testing program)

I cannot tell you how many times I've seen people down 2 monsters, or take stay-awake pills, only to fall asleep 15 minutes later and not wake up for 5 hours.
