What really bugs me is I had a $600 bike stolen last year. Recently, we found out who has it. A member of our local chapter of "the bloods". We went to the police station and were told we should just forget about it, as "the serial number will likely be ground off".

I drove away very bitter about the fact that he'd rather hide in the shadows with his stealth-black Magnum collection taxes from hard-working citizens with his fancy laser gun, than go after and retrieve my stolen property, the thiefs name of which I KNOW!! I won't feal the stightest bit of guilt running an illegal radar detector. Not one bit!
Go up the chain of command, or to whatever the equivalent of the DA is here.

Or get a .30-06 with a good scope and enact some vigilante justice. Most of the citizens in the area will probably want to give you a medal for doing away with the trash of society.

    That's disgusting.

Their response to the stolen bike doesn't upset me THAT much...he's right. It's stolen and they probably can't do anything about it. The thing that makes me ten times angrier is that they need to be busy breaking up the gang activity so bikes won't get stolen in the first place. No speed traps until they've done that!

Hmmph. Really makes a mockery of 'To Serve and Protect'. You should write a letter to the newspaper and see if that lights a fire under their asses.

Just more proof that they really are tax collectors with guns. Very sad.
