strong k band alert problem,australia,perth

Hi everyone

this is my first post so hope someone can help,anyway i've had my beltronics V995 for about 3 months and have been very happy with its performance until recently when i start my car up within 1 minute or so the k band alert comes on very strong,i then have to turn it off and on again sometimes 6 or 7 times before its stops falsing which is very frustrating,i've tried using the detector in other vechiles but it still keeps having the same problem,has anyone had the same sought of problem?

any advice welcome

This problem has been reported by several users of this Bel platform.
Take the unit back and get a replacement. It seems that some of these M4 based units tend to alert to an internal spur. It isn't going to get better over time it will only get worse especially with Hot temps or cold nights.

yeah definatly take it back, i assume you got it from Neltronics, just contact them, they will sort u out.

i got it from audiocom but i'll just go straight to neltronics hopefully they'll give me a brand new one

I had this very same problem with a Bell 990 Inter. As can see i had 4 of them so i have gone over this problem one or two times. What I found was that if I started the car with the detector plugged in and turn on some how it would alert the same K band freq every time 24.040 GHz. So all I did was (other than get a new one which did the same thing x2) turn it off before I turned off my car and the problem seemed to disappear. This was just another nail in the coffin for BELL as far I was concerned.

thanks for the info i'll give what you suggested a go,i didnt know about the valintne v1 until after i purchased the bel i suppose thats what you get for impulse buying
