Awesome site! I love it. I forgot about my Dads 2nd gen passport. I though it was tiny at the time but by todays standards it was huge. I never got to use it unless I was driving with him on family trips. Wish I had it today.

    Hi ericksonphoenix,

Actually, the Passport was very compact. It measured in at a mere 2.75" X 0.75" X 4.5", making it about the same size as several current Bel and Escort models.
Man, another reason I wish Dad hadn't given it away. I bet the guy he gave it too is still using it too.

Well, I have decided to take on such a project -- but only with your help! Please feel free to click on the link (below, after the following photo) and send me emails with comments, photos, product specifications, scans of product manuals, scans of test reports from automotive magazines, et cetera. I am sure that it will take me a few months to compile everything into a set of web pages about vintage radar detectors, but I think that the end result will be pretty neat.

    My Vintage Radar Detector Page

In the mean time, have fun and post your nostalgic memories about owning and using any of the vintage radar detectors shown above. Hopefully this will be a really fun thread for us older forum members!

    Best Regards,

    --Michael

P.S. I will update the above thumbnail with other radar detectors which I have which need to be refurbished. Thus, check this thread's initial post to see if a vintage radar detector model which you owned is now shown.
