V1 vs 9500i?

I'm on the 30-day trial of V1 and not liking the amount of falsings and non-descriptive "beeps" I'm getting. I'm wondering if 9500i is a better choice because it has built-in GPS that supposedly reduces falsing and it comes with "human voice" warnings. They cost roughly the same. Any thoughts? Thanks!

IMO:
9500I is the quietist detector ever, and has some really great features. Not the farthest detection range, but in the top 5 or so. Currently it has a bad audible ramp up. :roll:

V1 has the best detection range by far. Very, Very chatty depending on your settings and maybe a bit too sensitive, if there is such a thing. :roll:

I couldn't agree more. I have both and it sounds like for your particular situation, the 9500i would be the better choice. Where I live there are not too many false alerts, so I end up using the V1 more. However, if I go into Atlanta, it's 9500i time.

Hello,

Are you running it in A / little l or big L?

Also remember: the V1 has two horns, so it hear / sees radar forward and backwards. So you WILL have more alerts, both LEO and non-LEO types.

i see it this way, what do you do more, city driving? or High way driving? if you all you really do is city driving get a 9500i, if not get a v1, because you'll need it on the interstate for sure

Dude, you hit the nail right on the head! I live in north GA and have to make frequent trips to Atlanta, and this is exactly why I am seriously considering getting a 9500i specifically for city use. I love my STi for rural and highway use, and its filtering is quite decent for use in suburbs and small towns, but I really want the GPS lockout features of the 9500i when I am in the "big city"!

"Big city". Hmm, that sounds like Al Bundy.

No. Why would I want to do that? Michigan has X band. It's on the list somewhere in this forum.

I do more city driving. V1's city detection gave me late K or Ka warning today. I was in a 30 residential zone doing around 33. By the time V1 gave me warning, I could almost see the face of the LEO. So V1 gave me about half a second to slow down. Can 9500i do better than that? Thanks!

I switched back to my V1 today since I was missing my beloved arrows. I never realised how chatty it was. Even with automute at 4 led's is on. I have now grown to love my STi. It's really quiet. When Escort works out all the bugs with the 9500i, it should be fantastic. Too bad they don't share Bel's stealth. I really don't understand why Bel and Escort don't share technology.
