My 9500i set to Expert mode, will give an audible voice and say "Multiple frequencies detected" Not only will it show how many bands in expert mode (2/2/4) but the 9500I will verbally tell you if the 9500I is receiving multiple radar alerts at the same time.

Saved me... I had a K band sign and a LEO was running K band just passed the sign around a bend in the road. My 9500I said "Multiple frequencies detected" so I knew there was something up instead of hearing the same old K band alert.

nice save! although personally, I've found that very often, I'd always get 2 ka alerts when I do get them. I think this is called ghosting? I remember reading stalker duals cause this to happen, although I'm not positive. FWIW, NYSP are the ones I've seen these dual ka alerts from
The X50 will not ghost with stalkers. It does however ghost with 35.5 kustom radar units.
Agreed. that is the only gun i have come across that almost always gives me a ghost on the Belscorts.

You may have to double check on that specially when dealing with both K band sources. Expert mode will only indicate 1 bogey with speed sign and police radar. If it did truly happen, it will be very very rare. It will indicate "multiple frequencies detected" when there is a Ka band and K band most of the time and when both K band sources have frequency difference greater than 30mhz in expert mode.

I actually have this scenario happen all the time (more times with falses than real LEO's but quite frequently). The only time it doesn’t notify me of "Multiple frequencies detected” is if both K band frequencies are almost exactly the same, or of cource when there is only 1 alert.
More times than not it notifies me of "Multiple frequencies detected". Expert mode on my 9500I seems a bit different than my 8500.

Expert mode in 8500 and 9500i is the same technology except for the voice alert. I've tested them both with different radars and a modified auto door opener. PM'd you the units tested.

Thanks, the Voice alert i think is what makes me feel it’s different. It’s so much more obvious when it alerts to multiple threats than just beeping.

I ran across a Signal Hill LEO today that uses some 35.5 radar gun, I'm not sure which one, and there was only one contact in expert mode. No ghosting. On a side note, I wish I could have the kind of range on 34.7 that I do on 35.5.

That's strange. From what I understand, nysp use stalker 34.7, no? I don't have my x50 anymore but I swear it always did a double with these ka.

I'll show you a video when it is done. Your 35.5 radar can be a decatur unit if it does not ghost.

That is my experience as well. The Kustom units are the culprit of the 35.5 ghosting. Does anyone know why that is?
